Product Calibration
Balances:
Calibration of balances should be performed annually at the customers facility where the balance is used. These calibration should be performed using Scientech’s recommended calibration weight specified for each balance.

Laser Detectors:
Calibration of laser power measurement detectors with its power meter should be performed annually.
All Scientech detectors include a NIST traceable calibration certificate, to document that you are getting the most accurate laser measurement possible.
Excessive energy or peak power density can damage a detector. See Scientech’s Operating Manuals for safe operating limits. If your calculated specifications exceed those specified for the model, optical attenuation is often used as a solution. For Scientech P and SP pyroelectric detectors, we provide a damage test slide with each detector for pre-operation damage testing.
Electric substitution heater coils are available as an option that allows customer to perform their own field calibration. These electric heaters are only available for new detector purchases: add an “H” to the end of the detector part number when placing your order.
Please complete the RMA form with the requested information so we can process your repair quickly return the repaired product to you.
Calibrations will be performed within ten (10) business days after receipt of the detector unless during the inspection process damage is found. In the event damage is found, Scientech will contact the customer.
Calibrations returned without a Scientech RMA will be calibrated as time permits.

Calibration Shipping and Handling: The customer is responsible for all shipping and handling charges. Scientech can also provide a quotation for return shipping if desired.
Product Support Service
During the Support Period, Scientech provides at no charge to the customer, technically qualified telephone field service support. The field service support will be qualified to analyze problems, and assist in the operation or maintenance of Scientech Products. Support will be available to the customer for a period of sixty (60) days after product shipment.
