Photodiode detector, high-speed, designed for use with 25 mm aperture Astral or Vector calorimeters. Energy scattered back from the calorimeter’s absorber when struck by an energetic pulse provides an attenuated sample of the incident laser pulse sufficient to activate the silicon diode. A temporal profile of the laser pulse is produced when viewed on an oscilloscope. An internal battery eliminates all wires except the coaxial cable to the sampling oscilloscope.
